Nizhny Novgorod declares emergency over failing stormwater drains on Molodezhnaya Prospect
Authorities in Nizhny Novgorod have declared a heightened alert along Molodezhnaya Prospect in the Avtozavodsky District. The move comes after urgent repairs were identified for the stormwater drainage system in the area. Several sections of the road and nearby manholes now require immediate attention.
The alert follows a similar emergency declaration on Khokhlova Street in the Nizhegorodsky District. This time, the focus is on Molodezhnaya Prospect, particularly near building 44B. Ten manhole sites adjacent to buildings 40, 44, 1A, 56, and 58 have also been flagged for urgent work.
The emergency measures highlight the need for swift action on ageing stormwater systems. Once completed, the repairs will restore proper drainage along Molodezhnaya Prospect. Authorities have not yet announced a timeline for the work.
