Get ready for a thrilling detective adventure! The new installment in the long-standing Famicom Detective Club series, Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club, is scheduled to launch on the Nintendo SwitchTM system on Aug 29.
In this dark, twisted thriller, players will take on the role of an assistant private investigator with Utsugi Detective Agency. The investigation aims to uncover the origin of the Smiling Man murders, a chilling mystery that has haunted the city for years.
The game starts with a prologue titled "A Face," and the narrative unfolds through multiple chapters involving an urban legend, police investigations, and mysterious characters. Players will interact with detectives such as Kamihara and Kuze, as well as other key characters like Ayumi.
The smiling face on the paper bag resembles a recurring clue in a string of unsolved murders from 18 years ago. The question remains: is a serial killer back, or are the current crimes inspired by the Smiling Man story?

Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club is the first new Famicom Detective Cub story in 35 years. It follows previously released games such as "Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir" and "Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind". The series producer is Yoshio Sakamoto, who was involved from the plot foundations to the small details of the script and cutscenes.
