Ninety-one projects in Cebu City identified by Comelec
Rewritten Article:
Cebu City scored a significant win with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) green-lighting 91 infrastructure projects. Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia made the announcement yesterday, April 28, 2025, at Cebu City Hall.
According to Garcia, the Comelec's approval is crucial for the city's development, even during the election period.
Garcia confirmed the second round of exemptions granted by the Comelec. The first exemption covered social service programs within the city.
Moving forward, Garcia claimed that he had received the Comelec's approval for the infrastructure projects, and later, the annual bonuses.
"They've already acted on the first, for the social services. Now, the second round are the infrastructure projects. And next will be the bonuses," said Garcia.
The exemption for these 91 projects was granted by Comelec Chairman Erwin Garcia on April 21, 2025.
The list of exempted projects includes the construction of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries building, a wastewater treatment facility for Kalunasan jail facilities, water tanks, and a water impounding system for Barangay Taptap.
Other projects involve paving roads, rehabilitating the Abellana National High School building, building facilities for barangays Pung-ol and Budlaan, slope protection, road concreting, and drainage systems across various barangays.
Interestingly, the list also includes a P9.96 million project for the paving of the San Antonio road in Barangay Hipodromo, which is also part of the Comelec exemption[1][2][3].
