Niners Chemnitz' BBL Cup campaign concluded in the round of 16 following a close 86:89 defeat to Rasta Vechta. Despite holding an 18-point lead and a strong start to the second half, the team missed out on the quarter-finals. The game began favorably for Niners Chemnitz, with a 10:0 run in the first quarter granting them an early 19:9 advantage. However, Rasta Vechta rallied, taking the lead 24:27 midway through the first half. Niners Chemnitz then reclaimed the lead before the break, demonstrating improved long-range shooting, but Rasta Vechta's Alonzo Verge Jr. capitalized on Niners Chemnitz' waning intensity, scoring 38 points. In the second half, Niners Chemnitz had a 12:0 run to start, leading 52:34 and even holding an 18-point advantage at one stage. However, Rasta Vechta, guided by coach Christian Held who had previously bested Niners Chemnitz in the BBL-Pokal Achtelfinale, staged a comeback. Niners Chemnitz had an opportunity to force overtime, but Ty Brewer's late three-point attempt fell short. Corey Davis Jr. and Kostja Mushidi were Niners Chemnitz's top scorers with 16 points each. Despite their valiant efforts, Niners Chemnitz missed out on the quarter-finals of the BBL Cup, succumbing 86:89 to Rasta Vechta in the round of 16.
