In a shocking turn of events, a nine-year-old girl was shot three times with airgun pellets in Brentry, Bristol, on Thursday, September 2, at 1.30pm. The Avon and Somerset Police are actively investigating this incident, with reference number 5225247677.

The suspect in this case is a white male, aged around 17 to 18-years-old. He was wearing a blue padded coat and was riding a black electric scooter at the time of the shooting. The attack has been described as "racially aggravated" due to a racial comment made during the incident.

The police are searching for a person linked to this racist-motivated attack, but the search results do not specify the name or detailed description of this person, other than the fact that the suspect is approximately 5ft 11in tall, has dark blonde hair, and is of slim build.

Neighbourhood policing chief inspector Keith Smith is actively pursuing lines of enquiry. Witnesses and those with relevant footage have been urged to contact the force. CCTV and house-to-house enquiries have been carried out in the investigation.

The victim has been referred to Stand Against Racism and Inequality (SARI) for support. Despite not suffering any serious injury, the traumatic experience has left the young girl refusing to leave her home.

The investigation is still ongoing, and the police have not ruled out the possibility of a second offender being involved. Additional information and updates on the story can be found at The Sun Online.

As a precaution, there will continue to be reassurance patrols in the area to ensure the safety of the community. The online appeals form can be used to provide information about the incident. The police urge anyone with any information to come forward to help bring the perpetrator to justice.
