Nine-week roadworks to disrupt Hansestraße and Carl-Giesecke-Straße traffic

Major roadworks are set to begin on Hansestraße and Carl-Giesecke-Straße next week. The project will last around nine weeks, with repairs starting on Monday, March 9. Drivers can expect diversions, but pedestrians and cyclists will still have access through the site.

The renovation will cover the entire stretch of Carl-Giesecke-Straße between Hansestraße and Christian-Pommer-Straße. Work will also address potholes on Hansestraße near its junction with Carl-Giesecke-Straße in the coming days.

The project is divided into four phases, each requiring a full road closure. Motorists and trucks will be redirected via Christian-Pommer-Straße during construction. Authorities aim to fully reopen Hansestraße by the end of this week, though no specific details on the timeline have been released.

Despite the closures, pedestrians, cyclists, and bike riders will still be able to move through the construction area. The work is scheduled to wrap up after approximately nine weeks, weather permitting.

The roadworks will bring temporary disruptions, particularly for drivers using Hansestraße and Carl-Giesecke-Straße. Once complete, the renovated stretch should provide smoother travel for all road users. Officials have not yet confirmed exact measures to ensure the full reopening by the end of the week.
