Nine suspected terrorists, including a weapons trafficker, detained in Judea and Samaria region
In a series of operations across Judea and Samaria on Monday night, Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) made several significant arrests and confiscated various weapons and explosives.
The Duvdevan Unit, a special forces unit of the IDF, arrested a weapons dealer and another terrorist in the village of Burqin, located in the Menashe Region. During searches at the weapons dealer's house, pipe bombs, weapons, and a Hamas flag were found and confiscated.
The arrests in Burqin were not the only ones made during the operation. Another terrorist who assisted a terrorist cell planning an attack against IDF forces was also apprehended.
The operation in the Menashe Region was part of a larger operation that extended to the Etzion and Benjamin Regions as well. In the Etzion Region, IDF forces conducted searches and arrested several individuals, but specific details about the Molotov cocktails or the weapons confiscated during these operations were not provided.
Similarly, in the Benjamin Brigade, IDF fighters arrested three additional wanted persons, though the exact location of the operation was not specified.
Two wanted individuals who threw Molotov cocktails at Israeli civilians in Kiryat Arba were also arrested during these operations.
All the detainees and the confiscated weapons have been transferred for further investigation by the relevant authorities. In the case of the operations in Judea and Samaria, this means the Shin Bet, while for the Kiryat Arba case, it is the police of the Judea and Samaria District.
These operations underscore the ongoing commitment of the Israeli security forces to maintain peace and security in the region, and to dismantle any threats posed by terrorist cells.
