Nine Inch Nails Kick Off North American Leg of Peel It Back Tour
After a successful launch of the Peel It Back world tour in Dublin, Ireland, Nine Inch Nails are bringing their electrifying live show to North America. The tour resumes tonight in Portland and will make stops in cities across the continent, including Seattle on August 12, Chicago's United Center on August 19, and Detroit's Little Caesars Arena on August 23.
The tour's line-up includes Boys Noize, who will be supporting Nine Inch Nails on all confirmed dates. The collaboration between the two acts was evident during the Oakland Arena show on August 6, where Boys Noize joined Nine Inch Nails for an EDM-infused segment.
The Peel It Back tour marked the live premiere of Nine Inch Nails' current single, As Alive As You Need Me To Be. This song, taken from the TRON: Ares soundtrack, was performed by Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, and Boys Noize (Alexander Ridha) on the Peel It Back tour. The release date for As Alive As You Need Me To Be is September 19 via Interscope Records.
The review of the third show of the tour, which took place at London's O2 Arena on June 18, praised Nine Inch Nails for their reinvention and reconfiguration of their art with fearlessness and quiet confidence. The band's setlist included classics like “Closer,” “Head Like a Hole,” and the closer “Hurt,” as well as some new additions like As Alive As You Need Me To Be.
Josh Freese returned to the Nine Inch Nails line-up for the Peel It Back tour, having left to join Foo Fighters. The tour started on August 6 at the Oakland Arena in California, and the next confirmed stop is in Seattle on August 12.
The Peel It Back world tour will visit Baltimore's CFG Bank Arena on August 27, Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center on August 29, and Toronto's Scotiabank Arena on August 26. The tour will conclude in Boston's TD Garden on August 31.
