Nina Chuba discusses personal struggles with self-doubt and external pressures
Nina Chuba, the 26-year-old pop sensation from Wedel, Germany, is known for her vibrant stage persona and catchy hits. But behind the glitz and glamour, there's a different side to the artist.
Chuba, who goes by the stage name Nina Chuba, revealed in a recent interview with Der Spiegel that she has two distinct personalities: the flamboyant, confident stage persona, and the private Nina Katrin Kaiser from Wedel, who is less flamboyant and more reserved.
The pop star's rise to fame began in 2022 with the release of her hit song 'Wildberry Lillet,' which catapulted her into stardom. However, the intense hype surrounding her success has taken a toll on her mental health.
Chuba described feeling afraid and pressured due to the attention she received. To maintain her mental health, she removes her makeup and costume after shows and started therapy after her first album.
Last summer, Chuba experienced self-doubt after a seemingly successful performance at Berlin's Wuhlheide. Despite a sold-out venue and thousands of satisfied fans, she was hard on herself, tracing these feelings back to the 'Wildberry Lillet' days and the intense hype she experienced.
Chuba felt that she experienced a loss of control during the height of her fame. She openly discussed the negative aspects of her success in the interview, revealing that she was in a bad mental state after her performance at Berlin's Wuhlheide.
However, Chuba has come out of her bad mental state and is ready to face the future. She postponed work on her second album due to health issues but has since released it on September 19, titled 'Ich lieb mich, ich lieb mich nicht.'
Chuba's second album was a success, and she currently has millions of followers on TikTok and Spotify. She will embark on a major arena tour at the end of October.
Despite the challenges she has faced, Chuba remains determined and focused. She is an inspiration to many, showing that even in the face of adversity, it's possible to overcome and continue to shine.
