Nikita Mikhalkov's 'Conversation about Meanings' Enriches Chelyabinsk Region
Renowned Russian filmmaker Nikita Mikhalkov recently held a creative meeting, 'Conversation about Meanings', at South Ural State University in Chelyabinsk. The event was attended by the Governor of Chelyabinsk region, Alexei Teksler, and veterans of the Soviet-Afghan War (SVO).
Mikhalkov, known for his praise of the Southern Urals' natural beauty, expressed regret for not filming part of his 'Siberian Barber' movie there earlier. During the meeting, he shared personal memories, discussed filmmaking, and answered attendees' questions.
The veteran filmmaker presented blessed patches from the 'Besoogon' program to SVO veterans, and in return, received gifts from them. Teksler, who emphasized Mikhalkov's significant contribution to national cinema and public dialogue, expressed gratitude for his attention to the region and desire for open dialogue. Mikhalkov's visit to Chelyabinsk and Magnitogorsk for shooting parts of his film or documentary, focusing on the region's history, culture, or industry, further strengthened this bond.
Teksler promised to continue such meetings as a good tradition of the region, ensuring that Mikhalkov's visit and the creative exchange it brought will have lasting effects on the cultural landscape of Chelyabinsk.
