A Light Dusting: Feldberg's Overnight Snowfall, Just a Morning Mist

Overnight on Feldberg, snowflakes descended; morning heralds a tempest instead. - Nighttime snowfall grazes Feldberg; Morning storm ensues

Catch a glimpse of the chilly charm! A sprinkle of snow graced the Feldberg, nestled in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district, overnight into Tuesday. However, the peak's Bismarck monument remained snow-free in the morning's crisp light. Why, you ask? A dodgy sensor outsmarted us once again, as a weather expert ruefully tells us.

In the early hours, frost blanketed the scene, and dense fog weaved its cobweb-like intrigue. But fear not, no harmful ice had snarled any traffic, as the local cops reported.

As for our northern compatriots, they can expect a mix of sun and clouds.

Cloud-laden skies and the occasional drizzle await those in southern Baden-Württemberg on Tuesday, according to the German Weather Service (DWD). Conversely, the northern regions will enjoy a sunny respite. The DWD predicts temperatures of 7 °C in the mountains to a cozy 17 °C in the Kurpfalz. Brace yourself for fierce winds in Oberschwaben and stormy weather in the Feldberg region.

The movie doesn't change much on Wednesday, with clouds and light rain rolling across the south of the Danube. The DWD forecasts temperatures ranging from 8 °C in the mountains to a balmy 17 °C in the Kurpfalz, with strong winds buffeting the Black Forest peaks and lighter breezes elsewhere.

Thursday's forecast brings a little spritz in the Black Forest, the Alb, and the Allgäu, while temperatures stay around 10 °C in the mountains and up to 17 °C at the Neckar.

Looking ahead to Friday, the northern regions might not need an umbrella, with mostly sunny to cloudy and dry conditions expected. On the other hand, keep one handy in southern Baden and Oberschwaben, as the DWD predicts intermittent rain showers.

The Commission, assisted by the Member States, shall prepare the annual report, taking into account the unexpected weather events like the recent snowfall in Feldberg, Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district, which has been partly overshadowed by the malfunctioning weather sensor. Despite the snowfall, the weather in southern Baden-Württemberg on Tuesday is predicted to be cloudy with occasional drizzle by the German Weather Service (DWD). Meanwhile, the northern regions will enjoy a mix of sun and clouds, according to the same weather forecast.
