Nico de Boinville Returns to Saddle After Injury Layoff
Jockey Nico de Boinville is back in the saddle after recovering from a five-month injury layoff. The 31-year-old, who is eager to see top horses like Constitution Hill, Jonbon, and Sir Gino return to full fitness, is looking forward to another big season at Nicky Henderson's Seven Barrows stable.
De Boinville's return comes after a successful 2022 season, where he won five Grade 1 races, including the Cheltenham Gold Cup with Jonbon. However, his season was cut short due to injuries sustained in a heavy fall at Plumpton in April. He suffered broken ribs and neck injuries and was immediately taken to Brighton hospital for prompt medical care.
The jockey has been recovering at the Injured Jockeys Fund's Oaksey House in Lambourn. De Boinville is grateful to have regained his health and strength, expressing his eagerness to prioritize the success of the yard's horses in the upcoming season. Nicky Henderson's stable for the new season includes horses like Shishkin, Pentland Hills, Protektorat, and several rides prepared for De Boinville's return.
Nico de Boinville's return to the saddle is a boost for Nicky Henderson's stable as they prepare for the new season. With top horses like Constitution Hill and Jonbon expected to return to full fitness, De Boinville's experience and commitment to the yard's success will be invaluable.
