NHL's top stars dazzle in last night's high-scoring victories
The NHL's top performers shone brightly in last night's games. Owen Tippett led the Philadelphia Flyers to a 5–3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings with a standout display. Meanwhile, Mikhail Sergachev and Connor McDavid also earned recognition for their contributions in separate wins. Owen Tippett dominated the ice, scoring a hat trick and adding an assist in the Flyers' 5–3 triumph. His four-point performance secured him the title of NHL's First Star of the Night.
Mikhail Sergachev, playing for the Utah Mammoth, delivered four assists in a 6–2 win against the Los Angeles Kings. He also assisted on the game-winning goal, earning him the Second Star of the Night honours. Sergachev had not featured in the 2023/24 regular season due to a trade from the Arizona Coyotes (now Utah Mammoth) in June 2024, and he remains sidelined with a lower-body injury since March 2026. Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers rounded out the top three stars with a goal and two assists. His efforts helped the Oilers defeat the Anaheim Ducks 4–2, earning him the Third Star of the Night.
The night's performances highlighted key players in decisive wins. Tippett's hat trick, Sergachev's four assists, and McDavid's three-point game all shaped their teams' successes. Each player's contribution was recognised with NHL star honours for their standout efforts.
