NHL injury wave hits Flyers, Senators and Rangers mid-season

Several NHL players are currently sidelined due to injuries or personal reasons. The latest updates include key absences for the Philadelphia Flyers, Ottawa Senators, and New York Rangers.

Teams are adjusting lineups as players recover from upper-body injuries, lower-body issues, and illnesses across the league.

Jaden Schwartz of the Seattle Kraken has been ruled out indefinitely with an upper-body injury. The issue occurred after Nick Cousins' skate struck his face during a game against the Ottawa Senators. Before the injury, Schwartz had recorded 21 points in 42 games this season.

Jake Sanderson, the Ottawa Senators' top defenseman, is now week to week with an upper-body injury. He leads the team's blueliners in goals, assists, points, and average ice time. The injury happened when he was checked into the boards by Brandon Montour in a match against the Seattle Kraken.

For the Philadelphia Flyers, Travis Konecny and Nick Seeler are game-time decisions ahead of their clash with the New York Rangers. Konecny has already missed three games with an upper-body injury, while Seeler sat out two due to a lower-body issue. Meanwhile, Taylor Raddysh will miss the Rangers' next two games for personal reasons.

Elsewhere, Dante Fabbro of the Columbus Blue Jackets could return from a lower-body injury when his team faces the Los Angeles Kings. Roope Hintz of the Dallas Stars is expected to miss a couple of weeks with a lower-body injury. Zach Whitecloud of the Vegas Golden Knights remains day to day with an upper-body problem, and Spencer Knight of the Chicago Blackhawks is out due to illness.

The injuries and absences are forcing teams to adapt their rosters in the middle of the season. Players like Schwartz, Sanderson, and Hintz will be monitored as they recover. Their returns will likely impact team performances in upcoming fixtures. Coaches and medical staff are working to assess timelines for those listed as day to day or week to week.
