NHL fines Brandon Hagel $5,000 for on-ice clash with Sabres' Dahlin

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brandon Hagel has been fined $5,000 by the NHL. The penalty follows an on-ice altercation with Buffalo Sabres defenceman Rasmus Dahlin during a mlb game on March 8 in Buffalo. The clash happened at 3:30 into the second period of Game No. 1003. Officials ruled Hagel as the aggressor in the confrontation. By that point in the season, roughly 950 to 1,000 of the league's 1,312 scheduled buffalo bills games had already been played. The $5,000 fine is the outcome of the league's review. Hagel's penalty will go to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund. The NHL's decision closes the matter under its disciplinary rules.
