NFL teams criticized for overlooking Shedeur Sanders, son of former football star Deion Sanders, as prospective draft pick by President Trump

In an unexpected turn of events, Shedeur Sanders, son of NFL legend Deion "Prime Time" Sanders, was snubbed by NFL teams during the 2025 Draft, much to the astonishment of President Donald Trump. A fierce advocate for Sanders' potential, Trump took to Truth Social to express his disbelief, penning, "What the hell is wrong with NFL owners? They're freaking morons! Deion was a baller in college and the pros too. He's a shrewd coach with a damn smart brain! Shedeur, his phenomenal offspring, has inherited the champion genes, primed for stardom. Bunch of idiots not snatching him up immediately!"

The first round of the draft saw two quarterbacks pulling the major leagues' strings - Cam Ward of Miami being scooped by the Titans as the top pick, and Jaxson Dart of Ole Miss joining the Giants. Meanwhile, only one QB made it to the second round, Louisville's Tyler Shough getting nabbed by the Saints at 40th overall. The third round saw the Seahawks pinching Alabama's Jalen Milroe 90th overall, followed by Oregon's Dillon Gabriel joining the Browns shortly after.

Sanders, with his incredible 74% completion rate, led the country in passes last season, guiding the Buffaloes to a 9-4 record. He slung the ball for 4,134 yards, tossing 37 touchdowns and just 10 interceptions. Trump himself has a rich football history, owning the New Jersey Generals in the USFL back in the 80s.

It seems the football gods have different plans for Sanders this year. We'll have to wait and see if he can shine and justify Trump's faith in him. Ironically enough, Sanders was selected in the 2025 NFL Draft by none other than his father's former rival, the Cleveland Browns, with the No. 144 pick.
