NFL Playoff Divisional Round: Combined Wagers, Betting Analyses, and Forecasts

January 15, 2025: Divisional Showdown

Let's discuss the NFL's most anticipated week – the divisional round. After the Wild Card games weeded out the pretenders, only the elite remains.

Saturday, January 18th

Houston Texans @ Kansas City Chiefs

The Texans spectacularly proved the doubters wrong by mashing the Chargers 32-12 at home. Joe Mixon galloped for 106 yards and a TD on the ground, while Nico Collins terrorized defenses with 122 yards and a TD through the air. Despite C.J Stroud's subpar performance, the defense shut down Justin Herbert, potentially paving the way for another victory in the Chiefs' den.

The Chiefs, as defending champions, are getting a much-needed break after resting their starters in week 18. They're gunning for an unprecedented three-peat, and they showed no signs of tailing off last game. KC's swaggering squad may face some initial rustiness, but their stellar track record speaks for itself.

I'm calling another win for Kansas City in their divisional round showdown.

Prediction: Chiefs to win Moneyline (-450)

Washington Commanders @ Detroit Lions

The Commanders posted a historic win in Tampa Bay, scoring their first playoff victory since 2006. The Commanders' rookie QB, Jayden Daniels, kept his cool under pressure and threw for 286 yards and two TDs in his postseason debut. If Daniels maintains his magic touch, the Commanders could pose a serious threat to the powerhouse Lions.

Detroit, who clinched the no.1 seed, enjoyed a well-deserved week off. They're expecting a healthy David Montgomery to return, which means a potent one-two punch with Jahmyr Gibbs in the backfield.

I think the Commanders will push Detroit to the brink, but Detroit's precision and home-field advantage will carry them to victory.

Prediction: Lions to win Moneyline (-520)

Sunday, January 19

Baltimore Ravens @ Buffalo Bills

This hotly anticipated clash pits Lamar Jackson against Josh Allen, but both teams boast impressive rosters. The Ravens diminished the Steelers in the Wild Card matchup, with the dynamic duo of Jackson and Derrick Henry overpowering their opposition. The Ravens' defense has also been rock-solid, making them a formidable force.

Buffalo eased past the Broncos, cruising to a comfortable 31-7 victory. James Cook dazzled with 120 yards and a TD on the ground, while Josh Allen had a solid game, tossing two TDs for 272 yards. The Bills' offense displayed an impressive balance between the run and pass game.

This one's a tough call, but Jackson's electrifying playstyle and the Ravens' defensively resilient efforts could enable them to secure a big win on the road.

Prediction: Ravens to win Moneyline (+118)

LA Rams @ Philadelphia Eagles

The Rams were dominant against the Vikings, handing them a 27-9 beatdown after sacking Sam Darnold nine times. Matthew Stafford and his receivers tore apart Minnesota's defense, leaving little doubt about their offensive capability.

The Eagles demonstrated their toughness with their 22-10 victory over Green Bay. Jalen Hurts showcased his poise, throwing for 131 yards and two TDs, while their run game, led by Saquon Barkley, churned out yards consistently.

This could be a nail-biter, but I'm going with the Eagles to eke out a close victory.

Prediction: Eagles to win Moneyline (-290)
