Detroit Lions defensive back Morice Norris is currently undergoing concussion protocol following a serious injury sustained during a preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons. The incident occurred in the fourth quarter when Norris attempted a tackle on Falcons rookie running back Nathan Carter.

Norris was struck in the head by Carter's knee, causing his head to snap back after the contact. The Lions' defensive back was immediately attended to by medical staff on the field, and due to the severity of the injury, he was transported to Atlanta's Grady Memorial Hospital in an ambulance.

Both teams showed support during Norris' medical attention, and the game was suspended as a result. The Lions, in a statement, confirmed that Norris has feeling and movement in all his extremities.

Coach Dan Campbell and Raheem Morris of Atlanta met on the field after Norris' injury, and they agreed to run out the clock rather than resume playing. Raheem Morris stated that the decision was made out of respect for Norris' family.

Norris has since been discharged from the hospital and returned to the team facility. He is reported to be "doing well" and has posted on Instagram that he is "all good" and appreciates the check-ins and love from others. The Lions are taking a cautious approach, monitoring him over the next 10 to 14 days before reassessment.

The game remains in a suspended state, with no decision made yet regarding its resumption. Coach Campbell emphasized that Norris' injury puts things into perspective, reminding everyone of the importance of player safety in sports.
