NFL Game Predictions: Top Player Props for Buccaneers vs Texans Monday Night Football Matchup

The Houston Texans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to square off in a highly anticipated Monday Night Football matchup on September 15, at NRG Stadium in Houston.

For the Buccaneers, quarterback CJ Stroud is expected to face a tough challenge from the Houston defense, which held their Week 1 opponent to just 2.9 yards per carry. Stroud, who posted a passer rating of 74.3 in Week 1, may find it difficult to generate big plays against this stingy defense.

TE Cade Stover is expected to receive more targets, having had four in Week 1, while running back Bucky Irving, who only had 18-plus carries in three of 18 games last season, including playoffs, has a rushing yards prop of 65.5. A bet on Irving going under this mark is available at -118 at Caesars.

In contrast, the Texans' offense will look to capitalise on the potential absence of Tank Dell and Braxton Berrios, with Nico Collins, their top receiver, expected to face a tough matchup against Tampa Bay's top corners. Collins' receiving-yards prop has been bet down from 78.5 to 77.5, and his prop bet for receiving yards is available at DraftKings with odds of -110.

The Tampa Bay defense, which held Michael Penix Jr to a 93.2 passer rating in Week 1, is expected to pressure Stroud throughout the game, potentially limiting Collins' deep-threat ability. However, with Stroud's scrambling ability being the only effective running game for Tampa Bay in Week 1, the Texans' defense will need to be vigilant.

In the running game, Irving and Rachaad White combined for just 51 yards on 16 carries for the Buccaneers in Week 1. The Houston defense has a history of limiting the production of opposing running backs, not allowing a running back to go over 65.5 yards in their last six games, with the exception of Baltimore's Derrick Henry.

This promises to be an exciting game, with both defenses looking to assert their dominance and the offenses seeking to make crucial plays. The game kicks off at 5:00 pm ET.
