Real Madrid Transfer Jacobo Ramon to Como for €2.5 Million

Real Madrid has agreed to transfer La Fabrica product Jacobo Ramon to Italian club Como for a reported fee of €2.5 million plus bonuses. The agreement includes a 50% sell-on clause and multiple buy-back options for Real Madrid, allowing them to potentially re-sign Ramon in the future.

Jacobo Ramon joined Real Madrid's La Fabrica academy at the age of eight and rose through the ranks, eventually being promoted to the Castilla reserve outfit last season. His debut with Real Madrid's first team came in 2025 under Carlo Ancelotti, and he was a part of the U-18 team that won the treble in 2022/2023.

However, with the presence of Dean Huijsen, Eder Militao, Antonio Rudiger, and David Alaba, it was difficult for Ramon to get minutes at Real Madrid. As a result, the transfer to Como was a wise move for his development.

Ramón's departure follows a similar path taken by Nico Paz, another La Fabrica product, who was signed by FC Barcelona last summer. The "Carvajal route" refers to a La Fabrica player being sold elsewhere but returning to Madrid after developing, with Dani Carvajal being a notable example having gone via Bayer Leverkusen.

It remains uncertain which of Paz and Ramon will be the first to follow the Carvajal route, but rumors persist that Real Madrid may bring back Jacobo Ramon to the Bernabeu in the future. Madrid reserves the right to buy back Ramon at the end of the next three seasons, as part of a €6 million agreement with Como.

Real Madrid C.F. announced the transfer of player Jacobo Ramon on X, with the Italian club reportedly paying €2.5 million for 50% of Ramon's rights. The agreement also includes multiple buy-back options for Real Madrid, allowing them to potentially re-sign Ramon in the future.

  1. Cesc Fabregas, who previously followed the "Carvallal route" by leaving Barcelona and returning to Arsenal, could potentially advise Jacobo Ramon on this path, as Real Madrid reserves the right to buy back Ramon at the end of the next three seasons.
  2. In European leagues such as Laliga and Serie A, football players often face fierce competition for playing time, with a notable example being Nico Paz joining FC Barcelona last summer from Real Madrid's La Fabrica, similar to how Dani Carvajal and now Jacobo Ramon have left and may return from other clubs.
