News Update: Voting for the Mayor takes place on the 28th of September
The runoff election for the Mayor of Bergisch Gladbach will take place on September 28, 2025. The election office will be open from Monday, September 22, operating daily from 10:00 to 18:00, and closing on the Friday before the election at 15:00. For those who wish to vote by absentee ballot, you can request it via this link or by mail. If you have already requested absentee voting documents for the runoff election, you cannot vote directly unless you did not check the box for sending the documents for the runoff election when you requested absentee voting for September 14. In the event that you did not check the box, you can go to your respective voting or voting office with your ID card to cast your vote there. Voting will be based on the same voter registry as the main election. If you are traveling on election day and the absentee voting documents do not reach you in time, the election office cannot search for individual voters. However, the election authority or the responsible electoral office is in charge of allocating voting allowances to individuals who requested their voting documents in advance but received the paper version too late due to travel reasons. New voter notifications will not be sent for the runoff election. To vote, you will need your ID card or voter's certificate. Third parties may not be entrusted with the vote, as this is a personal election. The runoff election candidates are Alexander Felsch (CDU) and Marcel Kreutz (SPD).
