Newly Crowned Gunner King of Newland, Mirko Bostelmann, Emerges Victorious
In the picturesque town of New Land, the third annual shooting festival was held at the shooting club grounds in Moor, with a new Shooting King being crowned for the 2024/25 term.
The 50-year-old resident of New Land, Mirko Bostelmann, claimed the prestigious title, marking his long-awaited victory in the royal shooting competition. Bostelmann has previously attempted to win the title, making his triumph this year all the more significant.
Bostelmann will reign as Shooting King alongside Queen Sonja. His aides for the term are Holger Odau, Lars Dreier, and Arne Dreier. Meanwhile, Jasmin Reymers, the new Shooting Queen, will be supported by Sonja Bostelmann, Ina Dreier, and Annika Dreier.
The ceremonial retreat for the outgoing Shooting King, Wolfgang Schoof, took place indoors at the shooting house in Moor due to persistent rain. The shooting parade through New Land, which was traditionally held at dusk, was also cancelled and moved indoors due to the inclement weather.
Despite the rain, the festivities continued with the SV Moor shooting hall setting up a public viewing event for the shooting competition. The event also included a children's festival as part of the celebrations, with Saniel Asari being crowned as Children's King and Jana Reymers being crowned Children's Queen.
Christian Senger, the first chairman of SV Neuland, expressed his satisfaction with the shooting festival, despite the rainy conditions. The festival provided a unique blend of tradition, competition, and community spirit, making it a memorable event for all involved.
Other sports were often discussed during the breaks at the shooting festival. The local soccer club, SV Neuland, organised a friendly match against a visiting team to entertain citizens seeking a change of pace.
