This week, we're diving into the exhilarating world of skydiving with Cait Bunkers, the latest focus of our Feature Friday series at Skydive Arizona.
Cait's fascination with the sky began at the tender age of eight, and ever since, she's been chasing the thrill of freefall. Her story is one of an early spark that never faded, a student who pushed through challenges, and a jumper who discovered life from a new perspective.
Cait's journey in skydiving began in earnest by high school, and she soon found herself working at the Skydiving School for a year and a half. This was just the beginning of her involvement with the community, as she values helping others feel comfortable in the skydiving world.
One of Cait's most memorable jumps was a collaborative effort with Emily Quinn and Airspeed videographer Alex Swindle. This jump served as a milestone, proving Cait's ability to perform and belong in the sky. Emily Quinn, a major mentor for Cait, particularly in freestyle tunnel flying, was a key figure in this memorable experience.
Cait believes in keeping jumps close together to retain skills, and skydiving, for her, is about living differently, experiencing life in a raw and real way. This philosophy is reflected in her plans for the future, which include traveling to more boogies, exploring tunnel opportunities, and chasing new ratings like tandem, AFF, and expanding on her senior rigging certification.
Cait's next adventure lies beneath the waves, as she's interested in trying cave diving. This desire for constant challenge and growth is a testament to her passion for life and her commitment to living it to the fullest.
