Newcomers join the cast of House of the Dragon in Season 3 as three fresh knights are introduced
The highly anticipated third season of HBO's hit series, "House of the Dragon," is currently in production, with a potential release date in 2026. Another new character joining the show is Annie Shapero as Alysanne Blackwood, also known as Black Aly. A fierce warrior, Black Aly supports Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen during the Dance of the Dragons and ultimately marries Lord Cregan Stark. She features in five of the eight episodes.
James Norton has been cast as Ormund Hightower, a significant character related to the Targaryen civil war storyline. Tommy Flanagan will portray Ser Roderick Dustin, also known as "Roddy the Ruin," another notable figure during the conflict. Dan Fogler has been cast as Ser Torrhen Manderly, another key warrior character from the source material.
Shaun McCourt has also joined the cast in a significant but as-yet-undisclosed role, hinting at a new angle or important character in the ongoing political and military battles within Westeros.
Tom Cullen has been cast as Ser Luthor Largent, a character who reveals his loyalty to Daemon Targaryen in his arc in the book. Barry Sloane has been cast as Ser Adrian Redfort, a loyal servant of Rhaenyra Targaryen hailing from the Vale of Arryn.
Showrunner Ryan Condal has previously teased that four major events from the book will be part of the next batch of episodes. These new castings are sure to bring these events to life on screen.
