Newcomer Stubler officially takes on the role of La Salle's Police Chief
New Police Chief Takes Office in La Salle
Jason Stubler, a native of La Salle, has been sworn in as the new Police Chief of the city. The swearing-in ceremony was performed by City Clerk Liz Bishop on October 6.
Prior to his return to his hometown, Stubler served as a Naperville Police Commander for 7 1/2 years. During his tenure in Naperville, he oversaw patrol shifts, the Detention Center, Training Unit, Traffic Unit, and the Strategic Response Unit.
With Mike Smudzinski officially retiring on October 10, Stubler steps into the role at a significant time. The search results do not provide information about the current police chief of La Salle before Smudzinski's retirement.
After his swearing-in, Stubler shared his thoughts, but no specific details about his plans for the police department were provided.
In other city news, the city of La Salle has hired Universal Asphalt & Excavating for an emergency Water Main Replacement project. The project is taking place on Creve Coeur and Gunn Avenue, north of Eleventh street, and potentially Malcolm Avenue. The Universal Asphalt & Excavating bid for the project was $200,000 lower than the next highest bid.
This marks a new beginning for both Stubler and the city of La Salle, as the community looks forward to the future under his leadership.
