Newcomer David Canfield appointed as Senior Entertainment Writer on our site
Maer Roshan, editor-in-chief of The Hollywood Reporter (THR), has announced that David Canfield has joined the publication as a senior entertainment writer. Canfield brings a wealth of experience covering Hollywood to his new role.
Based in Los Angeles, Canfield will start working at THR's headquarters on October 1. He has previously served as a Hollywood correspondent at Vanity Fair and as movies editor at Entertainment Weekly. His bylines have also appeared in Vulture, Slate, and IndieWire.
Canfield's work is renowned for delivering deeply reported features on various topics. He has explored the enduring queer subtext of films such as The Talented Mr. Ripley and Brokeback Mountain, and the storied relationship between Cary Grant and Randolph Scott.
