Newcomer Aiata Challenges Established Sportsboat Brands in Cutthroat Market

Turkish boat manufacturer Aiata unveils its first vessel, the Wayfinder 38, designed by Jarkko Jämsén. The company aims to emulate the success of Axopar with a new range of fast, practical center console boats.

The newcomer boasts an array of impressive features. It includes walkaround decks, a bluff bow to optimize foredeck space, and various modular layout options for seating and sunbathing areas. The boat's standard model features an open hardtop that can be transformed into a fully enclosed pilothouse with the addition of sliding side doors and a large aft window, which can be installed or removed to adapt the boat for different seasons.

Inside, the L-shaped sofa, galley, and starboard side helm position are standard. Both the aft cockpit and foredeck lounge can be fitted with a range of seating and sunlounging modules. Below the console, a double berth cabin with a head-shower compartment to starboard and hull windows can be found.

The Wayfinder 38 made its debut with twin 425hp engines, achieving a top speed of over 50 knots in early sea trials. The base model, priced at €320,000 ex taxes, comes equipped with twin 350hp Honda outboards.

The unusual brand name, Aiata, derives from Turkish mythology, drawing from the moon god 'Ay Ata.'

The new boat is the brainchild of Finnish designer Jarkko Jämsén, who also designed the latest Axopar models. The Wayfinder 38 promises to cater to customers seeking a stylish, swift, and versatile boat that combines performance and aesthetic innovation.
