Newcastle United transfer controversy centers on disgruntled striker departing training facilities, allegedly in a state of frustration and disillusionment, according to a new report.

In the ongoing transfer saga, Yoane Wissa, the prolific striker for Brentford, remains hopeful of a move to Newcastle United. However, the negotiations have been complex, with Brentford initially reluctant to sell and Newcastle not meeting Brentford's asking price.

Wissa, who has one year left on his Brentford contract with an option for a further year, feels this transfer is critical for his career, especially for potential Champions League football. The 31-year-old forward has scored 45 Premier League goals across the past four seasons, with 19 of those coming last season for Brentford.

Newcastle, under pressure to sign a striker due to the possibility of Alexander Isak leaving, has had a difficult transfer window. The Magpies have identified Wissa as a priority target, along with Benjamin Sesko. However, as of now, Newcastle United have walked away from the negotiating table due to Brentford's demands, according to Sky Sports.

Brentford turned down a £25 million offer from Newcastle and rejected other approaches this summer, but have now become more open to selling Wissa if a replacement arrives. Wissa's former teammate, Bryan Mbeumo, recently joined Manchester United in a £71 million move, leaving a void at Brentford that the club is trying to fill.

Wissa is currently not training with Brentford and has expressed frustration over assurances about leaving this summer, which the club denies giving. The forward, who arrived at Brentford from French club Lorient in 2021, is said to be 'angry and disappointed' at Brentford's negotiations with Newcastle United.

Negotiations are ongoing, with Newcastle expected to raise their offer to meet Brentford's demands. Wissa’s insistence on forcing the move may influence the final decision. The finalization of the deal may happen later in the transfer window as Newcastle adjusts their bid.
