Newcastle United finalize unexpected last-minute transfer departure for fiscal funds to secure Yoane Wissa's £55m signing: sources claim

Newcastle United strike last-minute deal to offload a player, funneling funds for the £55m acquisition of Yoane Wissa, as per a recent report.

Newcastle United is experiencing a significant shift in its forward line, with several high-profile transfers set to reshape the squad.

The most notable development is the anticipated departure of William Osula, who's transfer rights have been acquired by Eintracht Frankfurt. Osula's expected move away from St. James' Park follows the acquisitions of Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa.

The Magpies have been heavily linked with Brentford's Yoane Wissa, and recent reports suggest that a £55m deal is close to being finalised. However, this fee has sparked debates among fans and commentators on social media, with some deeming it an 'over-pay'.

It's worth noting that the Bees initially rejected Newcastle's £25m bid for Wissa earlier this summer, with the asking price for the Brentford attacker continually increasing.

If the deal for Wissa goes through, Newcastle would have sold Osula to offset part of the cost, should his transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt be completed before the transfer deadline. This move would potentially mean that all three senior centre-forwards at Newcastle United last season could leave the club by the end of the transfer window.

The size of the fee discussed for Wissa's transfer might be explained by the length of his contract at Newcastle, which still has four years left to run. In contrast, Transfermarkt values Osula at €7m.

Meanwhile, Alexander Isak is joining Liverpool in a transfer deal worth over £125m, signalling a new era for the Reds' attack.

The departure of Osula, coupled with Callum Wilson's free transfer to West Ham United, leaves Newcastle in search of a new focal point up front. The club's strategy to offset costs through sales and secure high-profile acquisitions will be closely watched as the transfer window progresses.
