The original wooden drill floor remains intact beneath the modern banked running track, which is known as one of the fastest tracks globally. Today, The Armory hosts over 100 track and field competitions annually, where more than 57 high school and 13 professional American records have been set[2].

One of the foundation's significant initiatives is The Armory College Prep High School Program. For the past eight years, the program has had 100% of its participants accepted into four-year colleges, with many receiving financial aid[6].
The Armory's track is replaced every five years, and last year, more people trained and competed on the track than ever before. Recently, a blue track was installed, replacing the previous red one, and two original gates from The Armory had recently been dipped and re-bronzed[7].
The Armory's past is not forgotten. It was a homeless shelter in the 1980s before being bought by the city.
