New York City dream realized in video by Chappell Roan in 'Subway' featuring.
Chappell Roan, the acclaimed singer-songwriter, has announced a series of pop-up shows titled "Visions of Damsels and Other Dangerous Things." These intimate concerts will take place in September and October 2025 across three U.S. cities: New York, Kansas City, and Pasadena.
The New York shows will take place at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens on September 20, 21, 23, and 24. Kansas City will host Roan on October 3 and 4 at Museum and Memorial Park, while Pasadena will have shows on October 10 and 11 at Brookside at the Rose Bowl.
Roan's latest release is the single "The Subway," which was inspired by her stumbling around New York City with a broken heart. The music video for the song, directed by Amber Grace Johnson, features Roan in multiple surreal scenes in the city. The video has already garnered attention, with its unofficial audio being used in over 100,000 TikTok posts.
The pop-up shows aim to support trans youth, with a dollar from each ticket benefiting related organizations in each city. Ticket registration opened on July 24, 2025, via Fair AXS. Fans are being randomly selected between August 5 and August 7 to purchase tickets, which come with a 15% cashback deal if bought using the Cash App Visa debit card.
Fans are eagerly anticipating Roan's next single, as she hasn't shared new music since her hit "The Giver" in 2024. Roan mentioned that these pop-up shows are a special event before she goes away to write her next album, indicating that new album work is imminent. However, no specific release date or title has been announced yet.
Roan's breakout single "Good Luck, Babe!" was followed by the success of "The Giver," which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and reached No. 1 in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and more. The music video for "The Giver" was first performed by Roan at the 2024 Governors Ball festival.
These pop-up shows offer a unique opportunity to see Roan perform in an intimate setting, with a social cause at its heart. With new music on the horizon and a tour scheduled for the fall, it's an exciting time for Chappell Roan fans.
