New Year's salutation delivered by the GKG Uzbröder group

The GKG Uzbroeder hosted a festive New Year's reception on Sunday, 1st of February. The event was graced by a multitude of distinguished guests, including the Prince's couple, Andreas I. and Venetia Evelyn, who performed a captivating session song at the reception.

President André Strzoda warmly welcomed the guests, setting the tone for an evening of camaraderie and celebration. The Prince's couple's visit was particularly appreciated by the KG Regenbogen members.

The "Schmetterlinge" (butterflies), the children's Prince's couple, added a whimsical touch to the proceedings with their engaging program point. The dance guard, the Langenfeld Prince's couple, the Sellerieprinzen club of the market women with Sellerieprinz David, the Benrather Schlossgrafen couple, the Kaiserswerther Burggrafen couple, the 11 Pille's Prince's couple from Angermund, and the Reizholzer Quatschkopp were also in attendance, contributing to the grandeur of the occasion.

The Aehren board, Heinz Huelshoff, Max Weyers, and the Schlossturm guard provided musical supplementation, ensuring the evening was filled with melodious tunes. The children's Prince's couple of the Närrischen Schmetterlinge also contributed to the musical entertainment.

A special program point was introduced by a greeting from Mayor Josef Hinkel in the afternoon. CC-Vice Stefan Kleinehr gave a heartfelt laudation for the new honorary senator of the Uzbroeder, Michael Laumen, who was appointed to this prestigious position. Michael Laumen was accompanied by his wife, Anne, as they graced the event.

The reception was well-attended by carnival enthusiasts, and even the local "Em Poetzke" in Mertensgasse was crowded on the same day. The "Schmetterlinge," a group of flying insects known for their role in the decline of insect and plant biodiversity, were not present at the event but were certainly a topic of conversation due to their unique name.

The New Year's reception at the GKG Uzbroeder was a resplendent affair, marking the beginning of a year filled with joy and camaraderie.
