New VfL U19 team starts without the presence of two young professionals.
Bochum's U19 Team: Wrapping up Season, Ready for the Next Challenge
The U19 team of VfL Bochum wrapped up the 2024/2025 season with a bang, securing a 6:2 victory in the Westphalia Cup final. Following their win, the young lads reunited for a week of preparation, celebrated their title, then got fired up for the upcoming tests.
The first trial match against TSV Schott Mainz took place, and both key players Alessandro Crimaldi and Kacper Koscierski sat this one out. The lack of the two talents didn't hinder the team as they clinched an 8:1 victory, with standout performances from the likes of Luis Pick, Lumiere Santo, and Lasse Isbruch.
As the team moves forward, the next challenge is lined up for Sunday against 1. FC Kaiserslautern's U19. Additional matchups are planned against Arminia Bielefeld and SV Darmstadt 98, both in June, followed by more rigorous tests against Borussia Dortmund and 1. FC Saarbrücken before the season kicks off in early August.
The U19 DFB youth league, in which Bochum's team competes, consists of several rounds, including the preliminary round, the main round split into League A and League B, and the final match. Excitingly, Bochum's U19 team is also eligible to participate in the DFB Pokal, a knockout cup competition parallel to the league.
Even though specific fixtures for the U19 team's 2024/2025 season aren't readily available, it's essential to consult the official VfL Bochum club website or the official DFB Nachwuchsliga website for the most precise and up-to-date information.
