NEW KidsCup 2026: Regional U9 Football Tournament Brings Young Talent Together

The U9 football tournament (2017 age group) unites young talents from across the region, blending competitive spirit with a sense of community. Teams will kick off in three regional qualifying tournaments—Heinsberg, Viersen, and Mönchengladbach—culminating in a grand final on July 11, 2026, where the top teams from each region will face off. The host venue for the final will be announced at a later date.

The tournament begins with qualifying rounds in the three regions, played in a 5+1 format (five outfield players and one goalkeeper). The top twelve teams from each qualifier will advance to the NEW KidsCup 2026 final tournament, where young players can expect thrilling matches, a vibrant entertainment program, and family-friendly activities throughout the day.

All finalists will receive an exclusive NEW team kit, while the winning squad takes home a special grand prize: a group visit to a Borussia Mönchengladbach Bundesliga home match, including 20 tickets for the entire team. The specific match will be selected by NEW.

A unique feature of the tournament is its "Nations Cup" format—teams will represent randomly assigned countries as they compete for the NEW KidsCup title. The draw adds an extra layer of excitement, fostering team spirit and tournament atmosphere.

Registration & Eligibility The tournament is open to U9 teams (2017 birth year) from the sponsor regions of Heinsberg, Viersen, and Mönchengladbach, including the cities of Grevenbroich, Jüchen, and Korschenbroich. Teams can sign up directly through the clubs hosting the regional qualifiers.
