New trailer unveiled for spin-off series of The Office, featuring Domhnall Gleeson in leading role
The Office spin-off series, The Paper, has been released, bringing a fresh and intriguing narrative to audiences. Unlike a remake, this show follows a documentary crew in a different city, focusing on a struggling midwestern newspaper called the Toledo Truth Teller, rather than a paper company.
Co-created by Greg Daniels, the co-creator of The Office, and Michael Koman, known for Nathan for You, The Paper boasts an impressive lineup of creators, writers, and executive producers. Joining Daniels and Koman are Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas. The directing team includes Ken Kwapis, Yana Gorskaya, Paul Lieberstein, Tazbah Chavez, Jason Woliner, Jennifer Celotta, Matt Sohn, Dave Rogers, and Jeff Blitz.
Domhnall Gleeson plays Ned Sampson, the new editor-in-chief of the Toledo Truth Teller, determined to turn the paper's fortunes around with a rag-tag crew of volunteer journalists. Sabrina Impacciatore, who recently starred in The White Lotus, and Chelsea Frei, a mainstay of The Moodys, are prominently featured in the show's cast. Oscar Nunñez is reprising his role as accountant Oscar Martinez from The Office.
Tracy Letts, a renowned actor, has been announced as a guest star in The Paper. Molly Ephraim and Mo Welch have also been announced as guest stars. The series consists of 10 30-minute episodes, in the same format as the original Office series.
Two episodes of The Paper will be released every Thursday night until September 25th. Starting from September 5th, audiences in the UK and Ireland can catch the series on Sky and NOW.
