New thrillers, revivals, and documentaries hit streaming this week

Major streaming platforms are rolling out fresh films and series from February 2 to 8. Netflix, Amazon Prime, Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max, CANAL+, and Disney+ will each debut new titles across different genres.

One standout includes a German murder mystery on Amazon Prime Video, while Netflix introduces a French heist drama. Disney+ also revives a classic with a new twist.

Amazon Prime Video will premiere Fabian and the Deadly Wedding, a German murder mystery. The film stars Bastian Pastewka as a con artist caught up in a deadly investigation. Meanwhile, confusion surrounds a similarly named title on HBO Max—no official record exists for Fabian und die tödliche Hochzeit, suggesting it may be a misremembered episode from Fabian oder der Gang vor die Hunde, directed by Vitus Brenneke.

Netflix's latest offering is The Lionesses, a French series about five women who rob a bank and battle to protect their territory. Over on Disney+, The Muppet Show makes a comeback with a special guest appearance by Seth Rogen and Sabrina Carpenter. If well-received, more episodes could follow.

HBO Max's Heated Rivalry has already drawn global interest. The Canadian series explores a romance between two hockey players. CANAL+ joins the lineup with The Rainmaker, a ten-part legal thriller based on John Grisham's novel, packed with courtroom drama and action.

Amazon Prime Video also adds Natural Balance: A King's Vision, a documentary narrated by Kate Winslet. It follows King Charles III's decades-long effort to foster harmony between people and nature.

Viewers will have a mix of crime, romance, comedy, and documentary to choose from this week. Each platform's new releases cater to different tastes, from high-stakes thrillers to nostalgic revivals.

The films and series will be available across Netflix, Amazon Prime, Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max, CANAL+, and Disney+ starting February 2.
