New Project Empowers Activists for Inclusive Climate Policies
A new project, 'Ensuring citizens' rights and climate justice', has launched to empower gender activists, civil society organisations (CSOs), and community-based organisations (CBOs). The initiative aims to strengthen their advocacy skills and promote inclusive climate change policies. The project, organised by an unidentified international or local NGO, focuses on women's empowerment and rights. It seeks to make climate change policies more inclusive and responsive to marginalised groups' needs. By fostering close coordination among government, civil society, and development partners, the project aims to build an inclusive and resilient society. The initiative directly contributes to achieving several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It aligns with SDG 5 (gender equality) by empowering women and promoting their rights. It also supports SDG 13 (climate action) through inclusive and gender-responsive climate policies. Moreover, it contributes to SDG 16 (inclusive institutions) by promoting transparency and accountability in climate action through stakeholder engagement.
