Breaking News: £147,000 Bonus for Maximum Breaks in 2025/26 Snooker Season

The World Snooker Tour has announced an exciting addition to its calendar for the upcoming 2025/26 season - the Saudi Arabian Masters. This event, set to take place from August 8-16, 2025, will be one of the four major events in the season and will offer a unique opportunity for players to earn a substantial bonus.

The highlight of the season is a £147,000 bonus prize for any player who manages to score two maximum breaks (147s) across the four major Triple Crown events during the season. This bonus scheme is a notable incentive for players aiming for multiple maximum breaks in these prestigious tournaments. The Saudi Arabian Masters serves as the starting point for this opportunity.

The winner of the Saudi Arabian Masters will take home an impressive £500,000 in prize money, while the UK Championship main event will be held from November 29 to December 7, 2025. The World Championship main event will occur from April 18 to May 4, 2026, with the qualifiers taking place from April 6-15, 2026.

The Johnstone's Paint Masters is scheduled for January 11-18, 2026, and the top 16 players, including Ronnie O'Sullivan, Trump, and veterans Ken Doherty and Jimmy White, will enter the Saudi Arabian Masters on Tuesday.

The introduction of this rule puts added significance on the Saudi Arabian Masters, and players are likely to go all out for those 147s. In fact, since the introduction of the maximum break rule in 2023, only one player, Wales' Jackson Page, has managed to score two 147s. He used the prize money to buy a house.

This season promises to be an exciting one, with the £147,000 bonus for two 147s across the Triple Crown Events and the new Saudi Arabian Masters event. Stay tuned for more updates as the season unfolds.

The £147,000 bonus for achieving maximum breaks in the upcoming snooker season will undoubtedly spur players to strive for perfection in the sport, aiming for multiple 147s during the Triple Crown events. The Saudi Arabian Masters, being one of the major events in the season and the starting point for this opportunity, will no doubt witness intense competition among players.
