New Monarch Crowned: Nele Frisch Assumes Throne

Folks, let's talk about the recent King's Shooting event that sent the caterers sweating and the shooters competing! This biennial event attracted a massive audience, with numerous shooters registering, not just club members. The day kicked off at 11 a.m. with a booming cannon salute.

By 12:38 p.m., after 136 shots, the first prize - the wooden eagle (crafted by Mario Rothländer BSV Marxloh) - was clinched. After just 16 shots, the scepter (by Rolf Kroppen BSV Marxloh) tumbled, followed by the imperial orb (Linea Kamann SV Moers-Vinn) after another 15 shots. Hans-Rainer Bruckschen and Roswitha Neuhaus (both SV Moers-Vinn) were the victors of the popular wings, with 66 and 88 shots respectively.

At 6 p.m., Nele Frisch (20) claimed the torso with 124 shots, becoming the new kingship holder. Interestingly, this marks the third consecutive year that the shooting club Moers-Vinn 1903 e. V. has crowned a young queen, following Sonja Edel (32) and Linea Kamann (22).

Her coronation will occur during this year's shooting festival (13th to 15th June) at the club's event location, Vinner Str. 63, 47447 Moers, where she will receive the insignia, including the crown and chain. alongside her prince consort, Fabian Thelen, and the rest of the throne (ministers/adjutants), will also be announced.

For those intrigued by the history and traditions of such events, know that shooting clubs in Germany have roots dating back to the 14th century. Originally focused on defense skills, they evolved into social organizations promoting camaraderie, sportsmanship, and community engagement. In some clubs, a "young queen" might be elected or chosen to represent the club for a year, although the process may vary by club. More specific information about Moers-Vinn 1903 e. V. can be found by contacting the club directly or researching local historical records or club publications.

So, here's to Nele Frisch, our new young queen, may she dominate the targets for the coming year! Don't miss her coronation on the 14th of June at the club's event location! Cheers!

Other sports may not capture the attention like the King's Shooting event, with its long-standing traditions and sports-analysis demanding precision and skill. As Nele Frisch reigns as the new young queen, she might inspire someone to learn this unique sport, further growing the community ties originating from the 14th century.
