New Lord of the Rings Game in the Works, Fans Await Official Announcement
A new Lord of the Rings game is on the horizon, with Embracer Group, the rights holders, keeping quiet about the project. Fans eagerly await an official announcement, expected soon.
The game, set to rival Hogwarts Legacy, is a third-person adventure. Embracer, along with developer Revenge and publisher Embracer Group, is working on it, with partial funding from the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO).
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, released in 2023, received poor reviews, but the upcoming Lord of the Rings: Hunt for Gollum film, slated for 2027, promises a star-studded cast, including Andy Serkis, Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, and Sir Ian McKellen. Earlier this year, Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game was released to mixed reviews.
The new Lord of the Rings game, in development since 2022, aims to compete with Hogwarts Legacy. Fans hope for a better reception than its predecessors. Embracer and involved studios have declined to comment on the rumors, leaving fans eager for an official announcement.
