New Kid on the Slopes: John Kelly Takes Over as CEO at Taos Ski Valley

It's a snowy change at New Mexico's largest ski resort, Taos Ski Valley, as the long-standing CEO, David Norden, steps down to the board chair and hands the reins to his trusty sidekick, John Kelly.

John Kelly, a local fella who's been with the resort since 2015, has donned the crown as the new CEO. He previously served as the Chief Operating Officer, making sure the mountains, base areas, and skier services ran smoothly on a daily basis.

Norden, who's been the CEO since 2016, was part of a planned succession. He's confident Kelly, who's deeply rooted in the local community and skiing industry, is the perfect pick for steering the resort forward.

The leadership switch-up comes as the resort continues its expansion project, which includes adding a 7,300-foot gondola, updating ski lifts, and carving out new trails. SKI Magazine recently ranked Taos Ski Valley No. 5 on their list of best ski resorts.

In a statement, Kelly shared his excitement about leading this legendary ski resort and preserving its global reputation while keeping it independent and authentic.

From ski hills to the boardroom, Kelly's got a vision for Taos Ski Valley: "Better, not bigger". He plans to focus on quality improvements rather than just expansion, ensuring the resort maintains its charm and legacy.

So here's to John Kelly, the man on a mission to make TSV even more magnificent for a new generation of outdoor enthusiasts!
