New Leader Takes Helm at the Public Prosecutor's Office

Andreas Freyberger, a seasoned prosecutor with over two decades of experience in the German justice system, is set to take on a new role as the Chief Senior Public Prosecutor in Ulm.

Freyberger's career in the state justice system began in 1996 at the District Court Schwäbisch Hall. He later moved to the Regional Court Heilbronn, the Administrative Court Stuttgart, and the Public Prosecutor's Office Heilbronn. In 1999, he was seconded to the Ministry of Justice, where he worked on the topic of organized crime.

After a brief stint at the Ministry, Freyberger returned to the Public Prosecutor's Office Heilbronn. Following this, he was seconded for testing at the Higher Regional Court Stuttgart. In early 2005, he returned to the Ministry of Justice, this time as head of the department in the criminal law division, and was elected chairman of the works council.

Freyberger left the Ministry of Justice in early 2009 and became acting head of the Public Prosecutor's Office Mosbach. He was later appointed Chief Senior Public Prosecutor at the Public Prosecutor's Office Mosbach. After a successful tenure, Freyberger moved to the Public Prosecutor's Office Ellwangen in 2013, where he has been the head since May of that year.
