Germany-wide Inclusion Map Offers Support for Families - New Initiative 'Digital verein(t)' Empowers Volunteers, Aids Families with Health-Impaired Children
A new initiative, 'Digital verein(t)', has launched to empower volunteers with digital skills. Backed by Bavarian Digital Minister Fabian Mehring, the project offers free workshops, consultations, and hackathons. It also serves as a central hub for digitalization queries in volunteering, with Olympic champion Viktoria Rebensburg as its patron.
The initiative's digital inclusion map provides tailored support for families with health-impaired children. Users can filter services by age, diagnosis, accessibility, location, and provider. This collaborative effort between 'Familienauszeit Meitingen' and 'Digital verein(t)' is the first of its kind nationwide, according to the Bavarian Digital Ministry.
In 2022, the Federal Commissioner for the Disabled shut down its inclusion map due to dwindling usage. 'Digital verein(t)' aims to fill this gap, offering individually tailored consultation and support services.
The 'Digital verein(t)' initiative, with its digital inclusion map and free workshops, is set to strengthen society through digital tools and volunteering. Backed by Minister Mehring and patron Rebensburg, it provides much-needed support for families with health-impaired children, filling a void left by the discontinued federal inclusion map.
