An original Hindi biography of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, written by journalist and biographer Dr Arvind Yadav, was launched in New Delhi. The book, titled 'Dalai Lama: A Life in Hindi', is set to be published in English and several Indian languages, expanding access to the spiritual leader's teachings.

The biography, based on years of research and personal interactions, was released by Padma Vibhushan Dr Karan Singh. Reflecting on his long association with the Dalai Lama, dating back to 1956, Dr Singh praised the book as a significant contribution to Indian literature and interfaith dialogue.

The event was attended by a diverse audience, including academics, diplomats, scholars, Buddhist practitioners, and civil society representatives. Geshe Dorji Damdul, representing the Dalai Lama, commended the author for creating a faithful and original Hindi narrative. Dr Murli Manohar Joshi spoke about the Dalai Lama's global influence and the challenges faced by Tibet.

The biography, published by Rupa Publications, is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the Dalai Lama's life and teachings. In a special message, His Holiness expressed appreciation for the biography and its purpose, stating that it would help spread his message of compassion and universal responsibility.
