In an exciting development in the world of television, a new original drama series titled "Half Man" is set to grace our screens next year. This six-episode production, hailing from Mam Tor Productions - a Banijay U.K. company - promises to deliver a gripping tale of brotherhood, estrangement, and violence.
Created, written, and executive produced by Richard Gadd, who is best known for his work in "Baby Reindeer," "Half Man" follows the lives of brothers Ruben and Niall, portrayed by Mitchell Robertson and Stuart Campbell in their younger years, and Jamie Bell and Richard Gadd in their adult roles. Bell, who has previously starred in "All of Us Strangers" and "Rocket Man," and Gadd, with credits in "Baby Reindeer," join an impressive ensemble cast that includes Charlie De Melo, Bilal Hasna, Julie Cullen, Amy Manson, Philippine Velge, Stuart McQuarrie, Piers Ewart, Scot Greenan, Charlotte Blackwood, Calum Manchip, and a newcomer.
The series takes viewers through the lives of Ruben and Niall, starting from their troubled teenage years and continuing to their estrangement as adults. The reunion of these brothers leads to an explosion of violence that catapults viewers back through their lives over the course of the series. Directed by Alexandra Brodski and Eshref Reybrouck, "Half Man" offers a compelling exploration of their relationship.
"Half Man" was filmed in and around Glasgow, Scotland, and is supported by Screen Scotland. Banijay Rights is handling international distribution outside of BBC and HBO rights. The series will debut next year on BBC iPlayer, BBC One, BBC Scotland in the U.K. and Ireland, and on HBO Max in the U.S., Latin America, and Europe.
Neve McIntosh stars as Niall's mother Lori, and Marianne McIvor plays Ruben's mother Maura. This drama series is a follow-up to Gadd's Emmy-winning Netflix show "Baby Reindeer."
Mitchell Robertson and Stuart Campbell have credits in shows like "Curfew," "Mayflies," "SAS Rogue Heroes," and "The Winter King." Jamie Bell, on the other hand, has made a name for himself in films such as "All of Us Strangers" and "Rocket Man." Richard Gadd is also known for his work in "Baby Reindeer."
