TV Tips on Friday - New German crime dramas and nostalgic music shows hit screens this season
A fresh mix of crime dramas and entertainment is hitting German screens. New series like Murder or Marsh? The Wild Hilde bring mystery to the Wadden Sea region, while The Ultimate Guitar Show promises a nostalgic musical celebration. Meanwhile, cinemas are revisiting action-packed thrillers and comedies from the past decade.
Murder or Marsh? The Wild Hilde follows Tim Seebach, played by Oliver Mommsen, a man who fancies himself both a TV detective and a real investigator. His life takes an unexpected turn when his aunt Hilde arrives in Bremerhaven from the US. The plot thickens when Adele Husom, a well-known Wadden Sea activist, is discovered dead in Erik Festerkotten's shed.
On a lighter note, The Ultimate Guitar Show sees Oliver Geissen hosting a special programme dedicated to the biggest sing-along hits of the last 60 years. The show will feature celebrity guests and live performances, offering viewers a trip down memory lane.
For film lovers, two older titles are back in focus. In Olympus Has Fallen, Gerard Butler stars as Secret Service agent Mike Banning, who must defend the US President from a North Korean terrorist attack. Meanwhile, The Hangover Part III reunites the Wolfpack—Phil, Stu, Doug, and Alan—as they embark on a chaotic mission to help Alan, leading to a final showdown with their old enemy, Mr. Chow, in Las Vegas.
Another crime story, The Invisible Girl, centres on retired detective Altendorf and Inspector Tanner. Their investigation takes them to a small town on the German-Czech border, where they dig into the unsolved disappearance of a girl eleven years earlier.
The new crime series Murder or Marsh? introduces a mix of local intrigue and family drama, while The Ultimate Guitar Show offers a break from suspense with its musical throwback. Older films like Olympus Has Fallen and The Hangover Part III continue to draw audiences with their blend of action and comedy. Each production brings its own flavour to the screen, catering to different tastes.
