New Forgotten Realms books from D&D offer digital additional content centered around Astarion

In November, Wizards of the Coast is set to release two new books for the iconic Forgotten Realms setting in Dungeons & Dragons. The books, titled "Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerûn" and "Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerûn", aim to provide a fresh take on the beloved fantasy world.

Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerûn

The player-focused "Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerûn" book is designed to help players forge heroic characters deeply tied to the lore, gods, factions, and politics of the Forgotten Realms. The book features 8 new subclasses, 34 new feats, 18 new backgrounds, 19 new spells, and details on 42 gods and 8 factions. It also includes overviews of 10 famous locales to build character backstories, a digital Atlas of Faerûn map accessible via the compendium and D&D Beyond, and a pre-order bonus animated map of Dallabad Oasis.

Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerûn

Complementing "Heroes of Faerûn", the "Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerûn" book focuses on Dungeon Masters, delivering fast, flexible adventures set in iconic locations like Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale. The book provides expansive lore and detailed villain setups for campaigns, content to bring the Realms to life through perilous quests and storytelling.

The Ultimate Bundle

The "Forgotten Realms Ultimate Bundle" includes both books plus three digital expansions that add further content. While specific details about the digital expansions were not fully outlined, it is indicated that the bundle provides comprehensive access to all new content for the setting.

A New Era for Forgotten Realms

These releases mark a significant expansion focused on refreshing the Forgotten Realms setting with new player options and rich storytelling tools for both players and DMs. The books, totalling about 480 pages, share an art style consistent with recent D&D core rulebooks.
