2024 is shaping up to be an extraordinary year for jet-setters visiting or departing from Germany, especially international travelers. Let's dive into the details of the new direct flights being introduced in 2024.
Exciting Transatlantic Journeys
Leading German carrier, Lufthansa, is expanding its offerings by adding numerous new direct flights from its key airports in Frankfurt and Munich.
Pacific Pursuits: From May 30, a daily direct flight will take off from Munich, connecting it with Seattle-Tacoma Airport. This will complement the existing direct route between Seattle-Tacoma and Frankfurt, which operates daily during the summer and three times a week in the winter.
Midwest Marvels: Lufthansa will also introduce two new direct flights from its main hub in Frankfurt, including a daily flight to Minneapolis-Saint Paul and a flight to Raleigh-Durham, both starting in early June. Both routes will operate daily during the summer and five times a week in the winter.

Condor's Expanding Horizons: In September, Condor will start offering direct flights to San Antonio, Texas, three times a week. Travelers heading to western Canada can rejoice as Condor is adding a direct flight from Frankfurt to Calgary, operating twice a week. This will intensify competition on the Calgary route, which is already served daily by Air Canada.
Lufthansa's Cornerstone Routes Distinction
Lufthansa will also enhance some of its existing routes next summer, intensifying its footprint in the international air travel market.
- The Frankfurt to Austin route will be enriched with an additional daily flight.
- The San Diego to Munich route will see daily services, instead of just five times a week.
- Eurowings will increase the number of flights from Tampa to Frankfurt, currently operating four times a week, to daily.
Forays into the East: Eurowings' Expansion
Eurowings, Lufthansa's subsidiary, is expanding its offerings for travelers headed further east.
- Berlin, Hamburg, and Stuttgart will receive daily flights to Erbil in Iraq's northern region starting from December 19. This builds upon Eurowings' existing service between Düsseldorf and Erbil.
Eurowings is also planning to introduce a weekly connection with Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, starting in May 2024.
