From Heartbreak to Matchmaking: Lola Weippert's New Dating Show on SWR

A woman is introducing a fresh dating program for SWR. - New Dating Program Airs on SWR, Led by a Different Host

Lola Weippert, the 28-year-old host of "Temptation Island" and "Temptation Island VIP", is shaking up the dating scene. Swapping the hot tropics for German cities, Weippert is reaching out to singles, ready for a fresh start in love. SWR announced that she will pilot the new dating show, "City of Love".

Last week, Weippert kept her new venture under wraps. On Instagram, she tantalized her followers with a question: "Can you guess which shows I'll be hosting next? I'm beyond excited to finally spill the beans - it's going to be amazing!" The cat is out of the bag now.

Unlike the tropical settings of "Temptation Island", "City of Love" aims to stand out from other dating shows by filming in vibrant German cities - specifically, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, and Munich.

Radically Rewriting the Love Game

The show targets participants aged 30 to 40 who are ready for a blind date on camera and have a penchant for urban adventures. This cuts a unique swathe through the dating landscape, which often focuses on a younger demographic. "City of Love" will debut on the ARD Mediathek.

Few weeks back, Weippert bid farewell to RTL. She shared a series of fond memories, commending the channel for giving her the opportunity to host "Temptation Island" for five years. "It's been an honor! I'm jumping ship and moving on to new projects and shows," she declared. Janin Ullmann, 43, will take up the mantle from Weippert as the new hostess of "Temptation Island".

Calling All Hearts: "City of Love" Casting Begins

SWR is actively seeking participants for "City of Love". If you're a resident of Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, or Bavaria, you could be in with a shot! Submissions should ideally be in the form of a casting video. Radio host turned TV personality, Weippert, is stepping into the shoes of matchmaker - and she's itching to help mend hearts instead of break them.

In a typical dating show, singletons reside together in a confined environment, seeking to pair up and potentially find love. Shows like "Love Island" and "Paradise Hotel" see contestants coupling up and participating in challenges to nurture their relationships[5]. "Temptation Island" is known for throwing committed couples into the deep end with temptations designed to test their relationships, often with chaotic and emotionally charged results.

As "City of Love" is shrouded in mystery, it's hard to pinpoint precise differences between this new venture and past endeavors. But one thing is certain: dating shows always keep us guessing and "City of Love" seems prepared to do just that.

I'm not gonna let you get away with this, Lola Weippert is about to unveil her new dating show "City of Love" on SWR, a change from her previous ventures like "Temptation Island" and "Temptation Island VIP". Instead of tropical settings, "City of Love" will film in vibrant German cities, aiming to stand out from other dating shows by focusing on a slightly older demographic, aged 30 to 40, and offering an urban adventure experience. Lola, who recently left RTL, is stepping into the shoes of a matchmaker and is excited to help mend hearts instead of break them, as her new show debuts on the ARD Mediathek.
