Jones Faces Mortality with a Smile

Steffen Hallaschka (53) spills the beans about the upcoming episodes, saying, "After 'Dying for Beginners,' I thought I had seen it all. But death is a wild card: The new encounters in the second season left me amazed, shocked, and touched in more ways than one."

Together with Olivia Jones, they'll be visiting a crime scene cleaner who's intimately familiar with the nitty-gritty of death, among other eye-opening experiences.

Speaking of the nitty-gritty, one of the new episodes delves into a peculiar burial method called "recomposition," where a deceased person is transformed into soil within 40 days.

When Fate Calls, Jones Answers

One particularly heart-wrenching encounter finds Olivia Jones (55) baring witness to a young woman in desperate need of a donor organ. With no organ donor card herself, Jones shares her newfound perspective on mortality, admitting, "The first season of 'Dying for Beginners' was like a starter course, and I pushed many difficult topics aside. But after the experiences I've had now, I face death with a newfound calm."

The first season, consisting of six riveting episodes, was awarded the prestigious German Television Award in 2023. For the first time ever, VOX will be broadcasting the series on free TV on April 9th, following its exclusive run on RTL+.
